Over many years, the owners of this home had remodeled sections of the structure. When they called our team, there was one major element missing: the all-important staircase design. The clients wanted something special
Functionally, the formal staircase would lead to the upstairs bedrooms as well as provide an indoor/outdoor connection to the back garden. In terms of design, the final choice was a steel staircase with a brushed finish and perforated metal treads and railing. The staircase wraps the interior wall, leaving a large central space. On two sides of the staircase, floor-to-ceiling windows provide a view to the richly vegetated back yard.
Modern lanterns (originally designed by George Nelson) complement the space as do elements designed to display artwork.
